Save the Clean Power Plan: Comment Deadline Next Week

The deadline for comment on the repeal of the Clean Power Plan is January 16, a week from today! The EPA announced in early December that it will host additional public listening sessions in San Francisco, CA, Gillette, WY, and Kansas City, MO, but it has not published the dates. Take action now to save the Clean Power Plan!

UUs Help Block Natural Gas Construction Site

In mid-December, activists—including many UUs—held eight days of action to block construction of a new liquefied natural gas export terminal at the Port of Tacoma in solidarity with the Puyallup Tribe, which is leading a campaign to protect their lands and waters. Yesterday, climate activists rallied on the lawn of the Washington state capital and disrupted its first session, in a campaign for 60 days of climate action.

New Climate Workshop Podcast

Unitarian Universalists Peter Bowden and Tim DeChristopher have launched a new podcast! The Climate Workshop Podcast is dedicated to working through the challenges of the climate crisis from the uncharted to the unthinkable. First episodes have tackled what’s missing from the climate movement, how economic inequality, toxic masculinity, and mass incarceration connect to climate change, and the role of civil disobedience.
