UU Ministry For Earth has OPEN POSITIONS on our Board of Directors! These are individuals who help steer the organization forward and ensure the strategic outlook is sound. We need all sorts of expertise, such as general non-profit or business management, climate justice experience and know-how, HR experience, finance or bookkeeping backgrounds! Here is a link to learn more, and feel free to reach out to Board Chair Rev. Lauren Levwood even if you are unsure.
Serving on a Board is a great way to incorporate UU values into your life, including meeting UUs from across the country. Plus, it always feels good to learn new skills that you can use to contribute to your community!

As Unitarian Universalists, we are positioned to be faith leaders at this critical time in our country’s history. And it can feel overwhelming. Where do we start? We run the risk of becoming quick to act without listening to each other and the communities most impacted by climate disruption.
This Earth Day, UU Ministry for Earth will help us deepen practices that put Love at the center of our climate justice work. Not to avoid acting, but to prepare us for action.

General Assembly in Baltimore is approaching, and UU Ministry for Earth will have a booth in the exhibit hall. With only two part-time staff members, we need more hands to keep our booth running during the event. If you are interested, please fill out this form to receive more information.
Join UUMFE & UUSC Efforts to Preserve Indigenous Culture in the South Pacific
UUMFE, EqUUal Access, BLUU, DRUUMM, UUMA, AUUMM, LREDA and other UU professional and affinity groups have joined together to support UUSC efforts at responding to climate change impacts in the South Pacific.
In the economically modest Pacific island nation of Kiribati, UUSC partners with grassroots activists in Te Toa Matoa, a disability rights federation. Te Toa Matoa’s disabled artists help preserve Kiribati’s indigenous dance and music, which form the backbone of Kiribati’s cultural memory.
Te Toa Matoa’s disabled musicians have asked for UUSC’s support in replacing musical instruments and equipment that were ruined by storm-related water damage. UUSC has responded to this request by committing to raise $100,000 for Te Toa Matoa. Unitarian Universalist affinity and professional groups are collaborating in a first-of-its-kind partnership to support this important work of indigenous cultural preservation.

The Gathering – Rooted in Love, Rising for Justice

Just Peace on a Burning Planet: Why our collective survival depends on rethinking the military

As the horrific LA fires have shown, being prepared for climate instability must be one of the top priorities for communities, states and nations in the next decade. One of the few institutions that has long been thinking about adaptation to climate change is the military. The session will be led by Nick Buxton, an activist, communications specialist, and researcher on militarism and climate change. He currently works as Knowledge Hub Coordinator for Transnational Institute, an international research thinktank that works with social movements globally. Register here.

Creative Lament workshop

Led by Rev. JeKaren Bell, participants will explore the practice of lamentation and the ways it could provide support in times of grief and sorrow. UUA QUUest Camps:
Immerse Youth in UU Values & Earth Justice at UUA QUUest Camps!
This summer, Camp Blue Boat (Idaho) and QUUest Mountain West (Wyoming) will provide transformative week-long experiences for UU middle and high school youth. In partnership with the UU College of Social Justice, we’re integrating justice work, including environmental stewardship, into daily camp life. From worship under the stars to hands-on activities that connect spiritual practice and Earth care, youth will spend the week immersed in what it means to live their UU values in harmony with the planet.

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC):
The UUSC launches the Resistance Network.
We are living in a time of escalating injustice, but also powerful resistance. Those in power seek to divide us, weaken our movements, and strip away fundamental rights—but we know that justice is only possible when we build solidarity together. Our faith in human dignity, our belief in collective liberation, and our commitment to justice call us to act.
Yesterday, the UUSC launched the Resistance Network—a mobilization hub designed to take immediate action when civil liberties, democracy, and human rights are at risk. The threats we face are vast, but history shows us that resistance works when we act together. The Resistance Network is an opportunity to live our values as Unitarian Universalists and take collective action.
