A Farewell from Rev. Kelly Dignan

"As my tenure as Executive Director comes to a close at the end of this month, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude and reflect on the incredible journey we've shared.

Celebrating Rev. Kelly's Impact on UUMFE

"I've truly enjoyed the gifts of Kelly’s unique ministry. From creative worship resources (check them out here) to full moon gatherings, from guided meditations to grief rituals, from trauma education to embodied spiritual practices, from coalition building to growing our collective emotional intelligence, from systems analysis to impeccable board engagement, from overseeing routine operations to maintaining authentic relationships with so many who make up the larger body of UUMFE – just wow. There is really no other word. Wow, Kelly. Wow. Okay, maybe there are two more words to add: Thank you."

Earth Day Worship Celebration

April 22, 2025

8:00pm ET • 7:00pm CT • 6:00pm MT • 5:00pm PT

As Unitarian Universalists, we are positioned to be faith leaders at this critical time in our country’s history. And it can feel overwhelming. Where do we start? We run the risk of becoming quick to act without listening to each other and the communities most impacted by climate disruption.

This Earth Day, UU Ministry for Earth will help us deepen practices that put Love at the center of our climate justice work. Not to avoid acting, but to prepare us for action.

We will hold the service online, and we can also provide written worship materials for your congregation's or group's use. We ask for a donation for those materials. Register for the online service and/or the written materials here.

Join UUMFE & UUSC Efforts to Preserve Indigenous Culture in the South Pacific

UUMFE, EqUUal Access, BLUU, DRUUMM, UUMA, AUUMM, LREDA and other UU professional and affinity groups have joined together to support UUSC efforts at responding to climate change impacts in the South Pacific.

In the economically modest Pacific island nation of Kiribati, UUSC partners with grassroots activists in Te Toa Matoa, a disability rights federation. Te Toa Matoa’s disabled artists help preserve Kiribati’s indigenous dance and music, which form the backbone of Kiribati’s cultural memory.

Te Toa Matoa’s disabled musicians have asked for UUSC’s support in replacing musical instruments and equipment that were ruined by storm-related water damage. UUSC has responded to this request by committing to raise $100,000 for Te Toa Matoa. Unitarian Universalist affinity and professional groups are collaborating in a first-of-its-kind partnership to support this important work of indigenous cultural preservation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • Please circulate information about this joint project in your congregation. More information is available here.
  • Please consider making a financial donation here, should your circumstances allow.
  • Please invite your community’s leadership to dedicate a Sunday service to this set of climate change-related needs. A no-cost UUSC video sermon is available here.

In addition, stay tuned as the co-sponsoring organizations develop additional tools and opportunities to support Te Toa Matoa and the climate-impacted peoples of the South Pacific.

Susan's%20Art%20(Newsletter).png

"I live in Rockwood, PA on a small farm. I created this phenology wheel a few years ago. Each day I looked for flora or fauna to add to the wheel for that day. I also added the weather for the day. I was so surprised at some of the things I saw and heard. I know I would have missed some of them if I hadn't been looking so intently to do this project! It’s a terrific way to increase your awareness of what is going on in your backyard and track changes from year to year."
