Big and Beautiful News from Rev. Daniel Lawlor, Co-director
Dear UU Ministry for Earth community -
My wife Yumi and I are so excited to announce the birth of our child, Jung Joseph Lawlor! Jung Joseph was born early, and is receiving excellent care in the NICU. Yumi, Daniel and Jung Joseph - and our families and friends! - are excited for this beautiful, unfolding new chapter!
Jung’s name in Korean roughly means a deep sense of community and profound attachment, and like so many of you, we are overjoyed to see Jung join a world with so many dedicated to reverence, gratitude, and care for each other and for the living Earth.
Effective July 1, I will be transitioning away from the co-director role at UU Ministry for Earth to focus on being a new parent! Deepening spiritual practices, partnerships and environmental justice- anchored in economic and racial justice- in our congregations, communities and regions are critical to making real a healing transformation in our culture.
Over the last few years in our Unitarian Universalist climate movement, I’ve been honored to know, grow, be challenged and be inspired by bridge-builders and disruptors, by steady workers and dreamers, coalition conveners and front-line advocates, mediators and truth tellers. Multiple roles and gifts are necessary to move us to a place of health, healing and justice filled interdependence. I’m excited and inspired by the partner-rich Climate Justice Coalition and the upcoming Climate Justice Revival. I’m humbled by the decades of service of so many UUMFE partners and advocates. Accountable partnerships can move us toward embodied love for Earth and one another, particularly in front-line communities.
With care and joy, I am so honored and excited by you - by the thousands of Unitarian Universalists and allies across the globe who are working for a healing, caring world. We can win a better world.

We thank him for his commitment to Earth care and climate justice within Unitarian Universalism and beyond. We will miss him and are so grateful for his ministry.
What is the UU Climate Justice Coalition?
Read a blog post by Rev. Kelly Dignan about the coalition bringing you the Climate Justice Revival. The UU Climate Justice Coalition consists of UU organizations coordinating and collaborating to enact climate justice. Grounded in a faithful call as a community of practice, we share resources, build skills, and organize actions that advance a future with climate justice, collective liberation, and a world where all life flourishes. Currently, there are 11 participating organizations.

UU Climate Justice Revival
September 28-29, 2024
UU Ministry for Earth is happy to be one of the primary organizers of the Climate Justice Revival. The Revival events will be held in your congregational setting. Gather your justice teams, problem solvers, and dreamers. The Revival planning team will provide everything needed: facilitation toolkits, training, music, projects, coordinated justice action focused on the election and climate justice, and more. No matter your congregation’s size or resources, you can join and together we will enter a new era of climate action. Let's go—appoint two volunteer facilitators who will be trained to participate.
