As the summer winds down and a new liturgical church year begins, people of faith and conscience will join communities all over the world to Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice this weekend. What a beautiful and powerful way to kick off a new season with determination and bold vision for a just and sustainable world!
The clarity and strength of the Water Protector's prayers rippled out waves of inspiration for self-determination and clean water around the world. Take a moment to reflect on how the upwelling of Indigenous-led and community-led movements to protect sacred waters has made an impact on your own perspective and relationship to water.
This summer, Unitarian Universalists passed an Action of Immediate Witness expressing a commitment to ongoing solidarity with Indigenous Water Protectors. On the evening of September 13th, UUs will have the opportunity and honor of joining a webinar with Indigenous Water Protectors and family members who are facing federal charges and prison sentences. Join this call for an update on the movement and a chance to deepen involvement.
What would Unitarian Universalist Climate and Environmental Justice ministries look like if they embodied our boldest and most prophetic imagination? Explore this question and engage your prophetic imagination with UU lay-leader Pamela Sparr and the Environmental Justice Practitioners Network (EJPN) on Wednesday, September 26th, at 7:30 EST / 4:30 PST.
The Create Climate Justice Net was created by UUMFE and the Unitarian Universalist Association to give UU climate and environmental justice activists and coalition partners a valuable tool for education, collaboration, and organizing. Have you set up your personal account yet? How about an account for your congregation's Earth ministry? Now is a great time to join, and we are here to help should you have any questions!
